Structural Model

Solid elements can now include nonlinear material behavior. Currently a Von Mises plasticity model is available and can be used with steel and other non-concrete materials. Improvements have also been made to solid elements with fewer than eight nodes to make them more efficient during analysis.

Nonlinear layered shells can now include a hinge type layer allowing modeling nonlinear behavior in reinforced concrete shear walls via fiber P-M3 hinges.

Cloud Sign-in Licensing

Sign-in licensing now uses the system browser for a smoother authentication experience. Remote check out licensing has also been added for dark site or air-gapped machines that do not have internet access.

Analysis

Greater control over link-elements in models with large displacements has been added. This new behavior applies to nonlinear static, direct-integration, and staged-construction load cases where the geometric nonlinearity parameter has been set to P-Delta plus Large Displacements.

Functions can be added or modified after the analysis is run and the model is locked, including those for response-spectrum, time-history, steady-state, and power-spectral density analyses.

Design

Frame design has now been parallelized for increased speed. Multiple members can be designed at the same time, while respecting the sequential nature of certain design checks.

Output and Display

The option to disable saving of individual fiber results for Fiber P-M2-M3 frame hinges is now available. This can significantly reduce disk storage when individual fiber stress-strain results are not needed. Detailed hinge results will still be available, including the state and status of the hinge obtained from the fiber results.
