Application Programming Interface (API)

The Perform3D API has been extended to include features such as: • Add and delete Structure Section definitions as well as adding line and area elements to a Structure Section • Add nodal, element, and self-weight load patterns and loads • Add or delete an analysis series or add load cases to the analysis list of an analysis series

Database Tables

The Database Tables in Perform3D has been extended with Interactive Database Editing for adding, modifying, or deleting the following: • Mass Patterns • Nodal Mass assignments • Structure Section definitions • Load pattern definitions • Load Case Definitions • Analysis Series definitions Additionally, a drop-down list for populating certain field values is now available when editing the Component Property Definition tables.

User Interface

The ability to rename existing Limit State Groups has been added. The analysis list of all analysis series is saved when saving the model as a new structure.

Cloud Sign-in Licensing

Sign-in licensing now uses the system browser for a smoother authentication experience. Remote check out licensing has also been added for dark site or air-gapped machines that do not have internet access.

Analysis

The speed of the analysis engine has been increased by parallelizing certain internal operations (multithreading). • Multithreading can be enabled or disabled for each analysis series individually as part of the analysis series definition • Enabling multithreading allows the analysis to access all physical cores on monolithic (homogeneous) CPUs and all performance cores on hybrid (heterogeneous) CPUs. The parallel scheduler will evenly distribute the available cores among all concurrently running analysis series. • Multithreading is primarily intended for use with medium to large sized models with well-conditioned stiffness.

An API has been added to Perform3D, including features such as: • Add/Delete Nodes and set their mass, restraints, and constraints • Add/Delete Element groups, Add/Delete Elements and modify element properties • Read existing component properties and add new component properties including All Elastic Components, Cross Sections, and Compound Components and most Materials and Inelastic Components • Read analysis results for nodes, elements, and components

Reporting

A Live Reporting feature has been added which can be used to generate one or more report documents that compiles tabulated response outputs along with images. • Response data from the Database Tables • Users can capture images from plots or displays in the model to be included in the report. This supports most plots or displays in the program, including mode shapes, deflected shapes, and more • The contents of the report will auto-refresh when the analysis is rerun • The report can be viewed directly in the program, printed, or saved as a PDF or Microsoft Word file

Database Tables

The Database Tables in Perform3D have been extended to include Nodes, Elements, and Component properties. Interactive Database Editing has been added, allowing a user to use the database tables to interactively edit a model where analysis has not yet been run. Interactive Database Editing is available for the following: • Node data including adding, removing, and moving nodes as well as setting their supports • Element data including adding and removing elements and property and orientation assignment • Component Property data including adding, removing, or modifying component properties for all Materials, Elastic Components, Cross Sections, Strength Sections and Compound Components and most Inelastic Components

Cloud Sign-in Licensing

Data Files and Analysis

The maximum number of parallel Analysis Series that can be queued and run has been increased from 32 to 50.

A new graphical user interface has been developed to provide improved functionality and graphical clarity.

New display options have been added to control the sizes of the objects and text on the display, select between a dark- or light-colored theme, toggle an extruded element view, and display the node and elements numbers.

User Interface

Properties of individual nodes and elements, including identification, location, geometry, assignments, and loading, can now be viewed by right-clicking on them when viewing the undeformed shape of the structure.

Documentation

Help documentation is now available from within the software. Context-sensitive topics are available by pressing the F1 key when using the various forms and commands within the graphical user interface. Manuals and documentation, as well as online resources, are now linked and accessible from within the program.

Earthquake and dynamic-force records with more than 32,692 time steps can be used for analysis.

Database Tables

Analysis results and performance measures can be displayed in the graphical user interface, replacing the need to read results from binary files. Tabular results can be exported in text, XML, Excel, and Access formats.

Tabular output can be set to be automatically saved when analysis is complete. A Table Named Set and Table Selection Group can be specified to limit the output content for each tabular output file.
